🎬 Where Did My Timeline Go?

The timeline hasn't disappeared – here's how to switch back in one click.

Written by Emma Pescettini

If you've opened Zuuvi and the timeline has disappeared – or you're working in the Creative Editor and can't find the animation controls – don't worry. Nothing is broken. Here's how to get back to what you need.

πŸ†• What changed

We have two different layer views. 1) The Timeline and 2) the Layer List View.

The Layer List View as a new default in the Creative Editor in Manager. Instead of the timeline, you now see a clean vertical list of your layers.

  • In Creative Editor (Manager): Layer List View is now the default – but you can switch between the two.

  • In Studio: The Timeline is still the default – but you can switch between the two.

The good news: switching between them takes one click, and your animations are never affected by the switch.

πŸ”„ How to switch back to the Timeline

You can toggle between Layer List View and Timeline View two ways:

  1. Press the Tab key on your keyboard – this toggles between the two views instantly.

  2. Or go to Settings (top-right corner) β†’ look for Alt menu β†’ toggle on or off.

Your preference is automatically saved, so once you switch back it'll stay that way.

βœ… Will switching views affect my animations?

No. Switching to Layer List View simply hides the timeline – it doesn't remove or change any animation data. Switch back to Timeline View at any time, and everything will be exactly as you left it.

You can't change animations in the Creative Editor in the Manager, but sometimes it's just nice to see what's going on with the animations.

πŸ’‘ When to use each view

  • Layer List View – Great when you're building the ad structure, adjusting positions, or working on static elements. Less visual noise.

  • Timeline View – Switch to this when you're adding or editing animations. You'll need the timeline to set keyframes, durations, and easing.
