Zuuvi’s PSD Import is a new feature that lets you import your designs directly from Photoshop into Studio. It’s still in beta, so not everything will be perfect – but it’s already super handy if you're looking to bring in your designs as a starting point.

Here’s what’s supported (and what’s not) so you can set your expectations and make the most out of it 👇

❗ Disclaimer: This feature is in BETA

  • This feature has not been fully tested, and bugs or glitches may occur.

  • You might experience incomplete or incorrect rendering of some design elements.

  • We're actively improving it, so the behaviour and limitations may change in future updates.

How to import from PSD to Zuuvi

  1. Save your PSD file so it's ready for upload.

  2. Go to Zuuvi Studio and click on the plus symbol for new template.

  3. You will then get the option to import your PSD file.

  4. Chose the file and a new template will be made with the formats from your art board, and you're ready to build from there and add animations and effect.

🛑 Not Supported (yet)

Text Elements

  • Mixed styles in one text layer aren’t supported:

    • Fonts, sizes, and colours must be consistent per layer

  • If you use mixed styles, we’ll just keep the first one

Images & Masks

  • Masked images will be shown uncropped (the entire image is displayed)

  • Shape layers will be imported as images, meaning you can’t edit shapes in Zuuvi

Fonts

  • Only Google Fonts are supported

  • System or custom fonts will be replaced with Arial

✅ What Works Well

Artboards = Formats

  • Artboards become individual formats in Zuuvi

  • Only visible artboards will be imported

  • Layers outside of artboards won’t be included

  • If your PSD has no artboards, the entire canvas becomes one format

This is an example of how the content should be structured.

Layers

  • Text layers → stay editable

  • Groups → preserved (unless nested)

  • Everything else → imported as images

🧠 Consider Before Importing

Use Only Photoshop PSDs

PSD files must be saved in Adobe Photoshop.
Files created in other tools (like Photopea) may fail to import.

Rasterise Non-Text Layers

We strongly recommend rasterising all non-text layers before import.
This improves accuracy, fixes some shadow issues, and reduces file size.

⚙️ Use 72 px/inch Resolution

Other resolutions aren’t supported.

🔍 Effects, Shadows & Borders

Shadows

  • Only one box shadow is applied

  • Text shadows apply to the text container, not individual letters

  • If your shadow looks odd, try rasterising the layer

Rasterised vs. Non-rasterised

Borders

  • Borders as effects work (and can be updated in Zuuvi)

  • Borders from shape appearance get merged into the image permanently

  • No support for opacity or border position – always outer & solid

📦 Grouping, Nesting & Rotation

  • Nested groups will be flattened – only the top-level group remains

  • Hidden nested groups will be ignored

  • Rotating groups is not supported – rotate individual elements instead

🖼️ Reference Images

  • One reference image per format

  • Appears behind all other elements

  • Effects are not displayed

  • If a layer has different content but the same name across artboards – only one stays

⭕ Rounded Layers

Rounded shapes become images in Zuuvi.
That means shadows will appear as rectangles even if the shape looks oval.

Text layers

  • Keep text boxes only as big as necessary.

  • Improperly sized boxes may result in incorrect text placement.

That’s it for now – but stay tuned as this feature improves! 😊
